VCOIN Unlocks IMVU “Gig” Economy through Launch of New Service Marketplace
IMVU users are now able to easily browse through services offered by other users, in exchange for VCOIN, through a new and improved VCOIN Marketplace.
VCOIN, the first transferable digital currency designed for the metaverse, today announced an improved Service Marketplace for IMVU users to list “gigs” or services they offer in exchange for VCOIN. The new marketplace is located at gigs.imvu.com. Since the launch of VCOIN in January 2021, a new marketplace has been among the top VCOIN features requested by IMVU Community and VCOIN holders.
Unlike Credits, IMVU’s pre-existing proprietary currency, VCOIN cannot be used to purchase items from the in-game IMVU Shop, so the need for a quality marketplace to facilitate the exchange of VCOIN for services has been extremely high.
Compared to the interim marketplace that lived within the IMVU Help Center, the new marketplace is a significant upgrade. There’s an enhanced visual aesthetic that allows Producers or service providers to post images that display and market their service. For shoppers, there’s an improved categorization of services by type of, whether it be custom creators, editors, or miscellaneous services like tarot card readers. Among other unique features, a rate and review function has also been added to allow Producers to demonstrate their credibility by having satisfied customers leave a review of their service experience, responsiveness and ease of collaboration.
The updated VCOIN Marketplace is now live and available for all IMVU users to shop services in exchange for VCOIN.
